SANDRA PETER, MS, CCC-SLP, CBS, OMT

Sandra Peter, MS, CCC-SLP, CBS, OMT is a board certified, pediatric speech-language pathologist, certified breastfeeding specialist and orofacial myofunctional therapist. She is the owner and founder of Sema Speech Therapy and is licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC.

Sandra graduated with her Masters of Science from The University of the District of Columbia and is certified through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Sandra is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, Certified Baby Sign Instructor®. Trained in PROMPT, TOTs, and has been trained under Hallie Bulkin, MA, CCC-SLP, COM, QOM, CMT through Feed the Peds, The Myo Method and The Myo Membership.

 

Sandra specializes in pediatric feeding disorders, providing lactation support,  speech and language delays, articulation, motor speech and orofacial myofunctional disorders.

 Sandra works with each family to be certain that they are empowered in supporting their child in reaching their full potential. She also ensures that therapy is both fun and functional and is individualized to meet the unique needs of each child.

Something that was important in creating and naming the practice was tying in Sandra's, Kenyan culture. She struggled for quite some time as to what to name the practice and settled on Sema; because in Swahili it means SPEAK. It is her hearts desire to be able to help your child find their voice and SPEAK.​
